Terms of sale – e-books

The terms for buying e-books in the globalkyokushin.com shop: who sells, what you buy, how you receive it, the personal licence, the right of withdrawal and complaints.

1. The publisher

The e-books offered on this website are published by Global Kyokushin Budokai Kft. (registered office: 1027 Budapest, Bem József utca 9. fszt. 10., Hungary; company registration number: 01-09-397709; tax number: 27783571-2-41; e-mail: contact@globalkyokushin.com; "GKB"). The author of the books and the holder of their copyright is Dr. István Adámy.

2. Who sells to you

Purchases are handled by Stripe's "Managed Payments" service, and in this transaction Link, Stripe's consumer payment service, is the seller (the reseller, or merchant of record). In practice this means that:

  • you pay on Link's checkout page; GKB's website never sees or stores your card details;
  • Link charges and pays the VAT, and Link sends you the receipt or invoice by e-mail;
  • Link's customer support also helps with payments, refunds and disputed charges (support.link.com);
  • the purchase appears on your bank statement as "LINK.COM*" followed by a short description.

GKB makes and delivers your personal copy of the e-book, provides the downloads and answers questions about the book.

3. What you buy

One edition of an e-book (one book in one language) as downloadable files: in PDF and, where the book's page says so, also in EPUB. We do not send printed copies.

Every copy is made for you. Your name (the billing name you give at checkout) and the order number are printed in small type at the foot of every page of the PDF and at the end of every chapter of the EPUB; a licence page follows the cover; and the file carries a hidden mark that identifies the order. The PDF opens in any PDF reader, the EPUB in an e-book reading app or device.

4. Prices

Prices are in euro and include VAT. The checkout page may also show the price in your country's currency; it shows the total you will pay before you pay. There are no delivery or other charges.

5. How to order

  1. On the book's page, at the edition you want, you click Buy.
  2. Before that, you tick two boxes, which are not ticked in advance:
    • "I have read and accept the terms of sale and the personal-use licence of this e-book."
    • "I ask for the e-book to be made available to me immediately, and I acknowledge that I lose my right of withdrawal once the delivery has begun."
  3. On Link's checkout page you give your e-mail address, your name and your billing address, check the order and pay. Pressing the payment button means an obligation to pay. You can correct input errors on the checkout page before you pay, or leave the order.
  4. The contract is made when Link confirms the payment.

The contract is in the language of the page on which you buy. The contract is not filed as a separate written document; we keep a record of the order (see the privacy notice).

6. Delivery

Within a few minutes of your payment we send an e-mail to the address you gave, with the order number and the link to your library. In the library you can download the books you bought, on any device, as often as you need (each file at most ten times a day). The link in the e-mail works for a year; you can ask for a new link on the library page at any time, which works for seven days. If the e-mail has not arrived after 15 minutes, look in your spam folder or write to us.

7. Personal licence

Your copy is for your personal use. You may read it, print it for yourself and keep it on your own devices. You may not copy, share, upload to any public place or resell it, in whole or in part. The books are protected by copyright (© Dr. István Adámy); all rights reserved.

8. Right of withdrawal

As a consumer, you can usually withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason. For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, this right ends when the delivery begins with your express prior consent and your acknowledgement that you thereby lose the right of withdrawal (Hungarian Government Decree 45/2014 (II. 26.), § 29 (1) m); Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16 m)). You give this consent with the second box when you order, and we confirm it in the e-mail that confirms your order. The delivery begins when the payment is confirmed.

You can also send your withdrawal statement online, on the page "Withdraw from contract here". It is linked at the foot of every page of this website, in your library and in the e-mail that confirms your order. Enter your name, the e-mail address you ordered with and your order code, then press "Confirm withdrawal". We send you an e-mail at once that repeats your statement and gives the date and time we received it; we answer within 14 days. You can also withdraw by e-mail to contact@globalkyokushin.com. If your right of withdrawal has already ended as described above, our answer says so; if you still have it, we refund the price within 14 days of receiving your statement, to the payment method you used.

9. Faulty delivery

If a file does not open, is incomplete, or is not the book you ordered, write to us at contact@globalkyokushin.com. We will fix it or make a new copy, and if that is not possible, refund the price (under Hungarian Government Decree 373/2021 (VI. 30.) on the supply of digital content).

10. Refunds and disputed charges

Refunds can be given by GKB or by Link; the amount goes back to the payment method you used. The books of a refunded or disputed order can no longer be downloaded from the library, and the copies made for it are deleted.

11. Complaints and dispute resolution

Send complaints to contact@globalkyokushin.com; we reply in writing within 30 days. If the complaint cannot be settled, as a consumer you can turn to a conciliation body (békéltető testület). The body for GKB's registered office is the Budapest Conciliation Board (Budapesti Békéltető Testület; 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99., 1st floor 111; postal address: 1253 Budapest, Pf. 10.; bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu; bekeltet.bkik.hu); you can also turn to the body for where you live, or go to court.

12. Governing law

Hungarian law governs the contract. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection that the mandatory law of the country where you habitually live gives you.

13. Changes to these terms

An order is governed by the terms in force when it is placed. In force from 30 October 2026.
